LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and member Punjab Assembly Asad khokhar’s brother killed in firing during his son’s wedding ceremony in Lahore.
According to details, a gunman opened fire at the wedding ceremony of Asad’s son, killing Mubashir Khokhar alias Malik Goga and injuring another.
The injured was shifted to local hospital for medical treatment.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar was also present in the wedding ceremony at the time of the incident.
The accused in an initial statement said that deceased Malik Mubashar alias Malik Goga was involved in the murder of his uncle and killed him to avenge the murder of his uncle.
News of Mubashir Khokhar’s death was confirmed by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill on twitter.

Shahbaz Gill said that the attacker came very close to CM’s car and opened fire. Chief Minister’s security arrested the attacker. Unfortunately, Asad Khokhar’s brother was killed in the attack, Gill tweeted.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident directed the inspector general of police to submit a report.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister s Office said that Buzdar had ordered an inquiry into security arrangements for the wedding, directing that further action be taken against those found responsible for any lapses.
"Action should be taken against the arrested suspect in accordance with the law," the statement said.
The statement further said according to initial investigations, the firing appeared to be the result of a "personal enmity".
Earlier today, Punjab government had decided to appoint Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and member of the Punjab assembly Asad Khokhar as provincial minister.
A notification of Asad’s appointment as minister had also been issued.
It may be recalled that Asad Khokhar was elected as member of the Punjab Assembly on PP-168 seat vacated by former Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique. He was appointed as provincial minister for Wildlife earlier.
It is pertinent to mention here that on July 19, 2020, Punjab Governor Muhammad Sarwar had accepted the resignation of Malik Asad Ali Khokhar.
